Starting operation in January 2023, Umbrella assists teenagers and young adults aged from 12 to 18 years in high-need situations by providing personal and school items. In the first three months of operation, Umbrella donated 1,384 items. Considering that the essential teen backpacks count as 'one item' even though they contain at least 15 items - that's a great achievement!
Backpacks include essentials such as toiletries, school supplies, clothing and underwear, as well as a snack pack - featuring a Keep Cup, soup sachets, 2-minute noodles, tuna snack packs, muesli bars, coffee/hot chocolate sachet and a long-life breakfast product.
Umbrella also collects mobile phones to assist young people to stay safe. Phones must be in working order, have chargers and be wiped of personal info.
